Sweet-T Model

Not Just Another T...

We spent the entire 2011 revamping the line-up (and many of our processes), with a particular focus on our bolt-on models. From the business climate, the bolt-on market is very saturated. There are a million companies building S and T clones - some doing a really good job. So we went into this from the perspective that we didn't want to be another partscaster company - we want to up the ante and create the new standard of modern instruments.

3D Neck System

The heart of the instrument is the neck joint. Our new 3D neck pocket is an advancement over the square block for a few reasons:

First, the physical connection between neck and body is much stronger and should provide much longer service length and durability than a standard 4 bolt. It uses 2 custom inserts (with machine thread connectors - not wood screws) in the neck. There is much more wood in the block as well, so the entire system is more stable.

Second, ergonomics. Gone is the square block that simply is uncomfortable to deal with in the upper registers.

Third: Tone! there is almost 2x the amount of contact area under pressure (being squeezed) in the joint. Due to the nature of the curves, when you tighten the bolts, the neck locks into place - it's very stiff and doesn't move at all. This results in a much stronger resonance throughout the instrument. You get 360 degrees of tone transfer (180 in the neck and 180 in the pocket)!!!

Standard Features

  • Hand selected premium lumber - we go to great lengths to find the best wood, all ethically harvested and sustainable. For Sweet T's, we generally use Swamp Ash with body weights under 4lbs. If you are looking for less twang and more midrange, alder can be substituted. For necks, we use maple with a maple or rosewood fingerboard as standard.
  • 3D Neck System
  • Progressive Asymmetric Neck Profile
  • Custom Wound Pickups
  • Premium Components - Hipshot tuners, etc.
  • 100% Made in the USA
  • Finish: Nitrocellulose lacquer - 2 part oil process for necks (similar to the Musicman guitars)
